A funny thing happened on my way to work this morning. . . I drove past my house! We made settlement yesterday. Any advice to a new homeowner from all you homeowners out there? (Those of you who live in apartments can give me advice but I won't listen to it)

Lest any of you think that city life is all glitz and glamour. My car has become the port-a-john of choice for the pigeons in my neighborhood. The white paint is the perfect canvas for local pigeon digestive problems. Really, it's gross. Someone else, I'm assuming it wasn't a pigeon, (I don't want to get paranoid) liked one of my hubcaps bad enough to steal it. These factors combine to make my '91 Camry Wagon stick out a little in my 50 million dollar company's parking lot. Don't pigeons like SUV's?

Yesterday I was driving to work on 76, the main highway leading westward out of Philly. I looked over and saw the man in the lane next to me reading the newpaper and driving at the same time. He had the paper folded in fourths laying on the steering wheel. What's the deal? Is he so busy that the only time to read the newspaper is while he's driving? And you get annoyed with people driving and talking on thier cell phones. Besides, is there anything that worthwhile in any newspaper these days? (I can confirm he wasn't reading the comics.)

Perfection is not perfection. Perfection kills blog writing and Christian living the same way. Pride and diligence combine to paralyze good motives. Not enough time to write a blog entry, only 15 minutes left of my lunch hour. Can't have my time with God today, no quiet, private place. I'll blog when I have a whole hour. I can only read my Bible next to a quiet rippling brook with birds chirping in the trees.
Perfection's worst lie is that its just around the corner. Realistic perfectionism is an oxymoron. Tomorrow is always better and three months from now conditions will be perfect for me to be the godliest blogger in the world.
So today, right now, no more perfectionism. The only perfection I have is Christ's. I'm going to blog when I don't have time and read my Bible whenever I get the chance. Perfection is not perfection, its pride.
